Yesterday was my 19th Birthday, so I decided to save posting for today.
For the past six months I have been enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistance class. Today being my last day in the clinical setting, I would like to talk about my experience. Having Mrs. Sherie Courchaine as my teacher for the past couple years made the class more enjoyable. Helping people is something I have always wanted to do. My communication skills, ability to work with others, and all around care for others is what I think make me a perfect fit for the medical world. Working at a local nursing home, Freeman's was a wonderful experience. Lab time and working clinical rotations was the roots of my program. I learned and performed many skills, such as catheter care, transfering patients, and even handwashing (not as easy as you think when it comes to the health world). I got to work in a team of seven lovely individuals. The one in the picture is my friend Brooke. Though I was tasked to work by myself for most of the program being the only boy, I got the chance to hone in on skills and learn without having to watch others. Working with residents was the best part. I got the chance to put smiles on faces even though Michigan does not always get the best days (being ower weather is bipolar). Overall, I got to learn many skills for my up in coming CNA license test.
